Wanna go for a ride? The randy, rollicking young men of the Wild Hearts, a Danish moped club, are hell-bent on escaping society's rules. In search of freedom, they hit the road to Poland with only two goals in mind: building an even stronger brotherly bond and wringing adventure out of all 1,300 kilometres ahead. The hijinks come easily with comical scenes of drunken nudity, ritual branding, and a requisite group stop at a roadside sex shop. But the emotional journey proves rockier for some. Just because these metrosexual Vikings can openly, and rather touchingly, declare their love for one another doesn't mean it all won't come to a raucous head. Using a now-signature pumping soundtrack and dazzling visual style, filmmaker Michael Noer crafts an energetic and unexpectedly emotional study of modern men. Come for an American Graffiti-meets-Jackass road movie, stay for a surprisingly stirring "bromance." Myrocia Watamaniuk.
